Sunset at the Vanderbilt Estate, Hyde Park

"The Vanderbilt Estate is easily one of the top destinations in the Mid-Hudson Valley, in my book. I grew up going here, and for a while, I don't think I appreciated it, as much as I should've. But, it's just so beautiful, the views are breathtaking, and it's free to visit the grounds - I couldn't help but be drawn back to it, and rightfully so. On this particular August day in 2014, I went there specifically to take photos, which I don't often go out to do, and I wasn't disappointed. There was what seemed to be an inordinately long sunset that evening, and when twilight arrived - the setting just transformed. That's what you see here. I was honored by all the incredibly positive feedback I got from this photo, including the Town of Hyde Park using it on their official Facebook page."
