Widely celebrated as one of the world’s leading sculpture parks, Storm King Art Center has welcomed visitors from across the globe for over fifty years. Located in the lower Hudson Valley, its 500 acres of rolling hills, woodlands, and fields of native grasses and wildflowers provide the setting for a collection of more than 100 carefully sited sculptures created by some of the most acclaimed artists of our time. Storm King offers a unique and memorable experience with every season, as changing light and weather conditions transform both the grounds and the sculpture.

Fourteen works by David Smith anchor an outstanding collection of sculptures by artists such as Alexander Calder, Sol LeWitt, Henry Moore, Louise Nevelson, and Isamu Noguchi. The collection includes major works by contemporary sculptors including Alice Aycock, Alexander Calder, Mark di Suvero, Andy Goldsworthy, Zhang Huan, Maya Lin, Nam June Paik, Richard Serra and Joel Shapiro, and is enhanced by loans of other works by artists such as Huma Bhabha.
In addition to their permanent collection, Storm King features two annual exhibitions. The 2017 season features the major exhibition, David Smith: The White Sculptures, the first exhibition to critically and fully consider the use of the color white within David Smith’s works. In addition, this year Storm King presents the fifth iteration of the emerging artist exhibition series, Outlooks, with a new site-specific, temporary installation by Heather Hart.  This exhibition consists of an interactive, sculptural environment — in the form of a domestic rooftop — which has been enlivened by performances, discussions, and events.

Storm King is committed to offering a robust and dynamic roster of education and public programs for its growing and diverse community of visitors. The Art Center’s education programs provide visitors the opportunity to understand more about modern and contemporary art. Programs include concerts and performances, lectures and artist talks, family programs, summer camps, tours for school and adult groups, moonlit walks, bird walks, yoga, and beekeeper tours.
