Taken by Terry Hardy "It was a beautiful day in late October at Bear Mountain State Park. Hessian Lake had wonderful fall color but cloud cover was moving in obscuring the sun... dulling the colors. Occasionally, a light breeze would ruffle the water. Luckily, I was able to get many captures with the ideal conditions... good lighting and smooth reflections.
In this image, I love the leaning tree and it's reflection creating a nice curve. Image taken with a tripod and multiple exposures. All exposures merged in post process to create depth of color and dynamic range." To learn more about Bear Mountain State Park, click here. I had all my photo gear with me and was heading to Wappinger lake for fall foliage and wildlife shooting. I was disappointed I could not get a photo of it as it was located over the highway and malls. Once I got to Wappinger lake... I saw the rainbow arching over it and scrambled to get my gear setup. Was a very happy photographer that morning." Taken by Ken Rothwell "Taken October 18th at Blithewood Garden, Annandale-On-Hudson, New York. Finding a nice surprise just beyond the doorway of the incredible Catskill Mountains. "
Blithewood Garden is one of our favorite places in the Hudson Valley! A part of Blithewood Manor; it's located on the Bard College campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, overlooking the Hudson River. It needs to be seen in person to properly appreciate. Admission for individuals is free. I live in the City of Poughkeepsie, but my husband and I spend most weekends during warmer weather in the New Paltz / Gardiner area. We love to kayak on the Walkill River and bike in Minnewaska State Park. A few years ago, we purchased a Nikon D5200 camera. During the last few months, I've been playing with the vivid setting - as you can see in this photo of the Skytop Tower, at Mohonk Mountain House."

My daughter and I went out in search of the perfect photo of her for her first birthday. It was a great shot with the barge going down the river because our wedding photos were also shot with a barge in the background, at the Hudson river. This photo was quickly taken using my phone!"

I'm an amateur photographer and have been doing photography for over a year now as a hobby, and needed more photos to take that had a more autumn feel to them. This one turned out great. The leaves were everywhere and the colors were beautiful."

I was on the last leg of my drive from Wisconsin to see friends in upstate New York and exited the Thruway at Rome. Ended up getting a little lost and found myself in West Leyden, and seeing this beautiful spot I had to stop and take a picture.
The east branch of the Mohawk meets the west branch in West Branch, New York. The west branch then joins the Mohawk near Rome, New York. The Mohawk River flows into the Hudson at Cohoes. The Mohawk River is the Hudson River's largest tributary. I like the green plants behind the waterfall." I was enjoying taking pictures of the many beautiful view the park offers. But nothing beat the moment that the sun made it's first appearance over the mountains. The feeling of the first rays of sun hitting you in the morning (especially on a windy & cold morning) and the glorious scene that ensues for just a couple of minutes is hard to describe and capture in a words or photos. Something everyone should experience from the many amazing spots around the Hudson Valley!
