Esopus Meadows Lighthouse in Winter

"In December of 2010, I bought my first DSLR camera, a Canon Rebel. As a Christmas gift, I received Canon's 55-250mm lens. Needless to say, I was eager to try it out. I had taken up hiking in 2009 and was aware of the view of the Esopus Lighthouse that Scenic Hudson's Esopus Meadows Preserve had to offer. And so, on January 3, 2011, I had one of my first opportunities to try out my new toy. I was hoping to make it back this Winter, now that I have a tripod and have learned so much more about photography, but I read that the Esopus Meadows Preserve is closed for a few months for maintenance."
