If seeing a film out on a mysterious island is something you've been wanting to do, you are in luck! Summer is officially here, and with it, come Bannerman Island's summer movie nights. Back in 2017, the Bannerman Castle Trust's online manager John Morzen and president Len Warner's dream of making movie nights a reality on the island came to fruition with a string of sold out showings, followed by a full schedule of films, last year.
Movie nights have returned in 2019, with a screening of Ferris Bueller's Day Off officially opening the season. The first movie night of the summer will be taking place on Friday, June 28th, 2019, with boats departing from the island at 7pm and 8pm, from the waterfront in Beacon, New York. (Adjacent to the Metro-North Train Station). Tickets include a cruise to the island from Beacon, a mini-tour of the island while you're there, entry to the newly-opened Bannerman family residence, the film screening itself, and a return cruise back to Beacon. Popcorn, candy, refreshments and other concessions will be available for purchase. Outdoor seating is provided.
Additional movie nights will be taking place in July, August and September. Know someone who may want to attend? Let them know!
