The Historic Thayer Hotel at West Point
Built in 1915 upon a plateau overlooking the shores of Hessian Lake, this natural beauty of local stone and timber is a national treasure. Its 15 deluxe guestrooms and suites combine rustic mountainside elegance with all the creature comforts of home to make it the quintessential romantic Hudson Valley destination. Enjoy an eclectic mix of exquisite culinary creations, panoramic views and fine hospitality at Restaurant 1915 or a relaxing libation at the Blue Roof Tapas Bar.

Rooms & Suites at the Inn


The Bear Mountain Inn has fifteen deluxe guestrooms and suites. All guestroom reservations include 2 bottles of water per room, on-site parking ($10 fee per car applicable for outside guests), Keurig coffee makers, high-speed Wi-Fi, local calls and wake-up calls.

Additional amenities offered include plush bedding and linens, 32" televisions with satellite TV, in-room micro fridge and microwave, iron and ironing boards, hair dryers, and MP3 alarm clocks.

Scenic Overlook Lodge

The 24 guestrooms of Overlook Lodge are a hiker’s dream or a honeymooner’s delight offering a rustic comfort that allows you to truly become one with the mountain. Relax fireside (seasonally) in the lobby, which boasts fabulous panoramic views of the Hudson River or retreat to the peace of your guestroom that has a perfect combination of calm serenity and upscale perks.

Accommodations at the Overlook Lodge feature rooms with one king or two double beds, plush bedding and linens, 32" televisions with satellite TV, workspace with complimentary Wi-Fi, kitchenette with microwave and micro fridge, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and MP3 alarm clock.

The Overlook Lodge features a limited number of pet-friendly guestrooms. If you are interested in traveling with your canine, please call the hotel directly at 845-786-2731.

The Stone Cottages


The traditional Stone Cottages  are perfect for anyone looking for an authentic, rustic mountain cabin experience without the expense of renting an entire cabin. Each of the four stone cottages is complete with a cozy front porch and a common living area with wood-burning fireplace, microwave, mini-refrigerator and dry bar. The common area connects six individual private guest rooms (each rentable under separate reservations) – with one queen-size bed, private bath, small refrigerator and 32″ television. You can reserve one bedroom or the entire cottage (based upon availability). Each Cottage is ADA-accessible.

Rustic comfort in the cottages includes six individual guestrooms per cottage - each with one queen bed and plush bedding and linens, wood-burning fireplace (seasonally available), and covered front porch.

Named for the year that the inn was built, Restaurant 1915 offers an eclectic mix of creative global cuisine served up from our executive chef who’s known for taking familiar, locally sourced items and giving them an exquisite, intriguing twist.

You’ll find the hospitality and service to be gracious and effortless as you dine in this historic Adirondack aesthetic with its soaring ceiling, extraordinary woodwork, the massive stone fireplace and views from every window that bring the park — and its peaceful lake — right into the room.

Hikers Cafe & Stand 10
No day in the park is complete without a visit to the Hiker’s Café. Grab a quick snack, cold soda or hot cocoa. Wanting for something a little more decadent? How about a hand-scooped sugar cone full of Perry’s Ice Cream! Hiker’s Cafe features grab ‘n’ go options (sandwiches, salads and breakfast items) – perfect for the day hiker or those just looking for a relaxing respite in a casual atmosphere. Hiker’s Café is located just inside the east entrance of the Bear Mountain Inn on the first floor (nearest to the parking kiosk).

And, located near the entrance to the picnic groves, Stand 10 is a landmark concession stand that serves a popular mix of delicious burgers, kosher hot dogs, french fries and ice cream. It has all the perfect snacks and grab ‘n’ go options for families and hikers heading to and from exploring Bear Mountain State Park.
